Some months I buy very little from Amazon other than my subscribe and save orders, and other months I feel like I’ve bought out the warehouse! May was one of those months that I bought out the warehouse.

Amazon Prime Purchases May 2023
I spent waaay too much money in May. It started with my laptop crashing and having to be replaced. I knew it was coming because I have been limping along with it, but it’s never fun to have to do it last minute. I didn’t spend too much time on the decision. It had to be done. I ordered one from Sam’s and picked it up that afternoon after work. So far, I’m happy with it.
The purchase of a new laptop led to the purchase of a new printer. My husband had been suggesting we buy a new one because our was so old, but it still worked. When I went to install in on the new laptop I discovered that Canon no longer provided the driver for it. So, I gave in to the purchase of a new printer. I went to Staples first but they didn’t have the one I wanted. I came home and shopped online and was able to get the printer and the extended warranty cheaper on Amazon.

Some may think this one prints a little slowly but I’m printing from a wifi connection and it gets the job done for home use. I would look for something faster if I wanted to use it for a business. I’m hoping the ink tanks save me money over cartridges as well but that remains to be seen.
2 Pack Black Iron Garden Trellis for Climbing Plants
I planted some petunias along with other plants in planters on the front porch but rather than letting them trail, I ordered these round trellises to go in the pots. The plants are still growing and I’m still working on getting the look I want, but here’s a shot from a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve been needing to upgrade my loungewear now that it’s getting warmer. I spend the winter in joggers and leggings, but my summer loungewear is either worn out or too small, so I ordered a few things from Amazon.
Amazon Essentials Women’s Short-Sleeve Scoop Neck Romper
This romper is soft and comfy. I ordered a medium. I could easily throw on a denim jacket or light layer and wear this out of the house if I needed to go in a hurry.

I sized up to a large in this set. It’s great for lounging around the house.

This is my favorite of the lounge sets I ordered but it does run small. I went up to an x-large in this one. It’s so soft and comfy.

Every week I design a layout in my Happy Planner and make my to do and to buy lists for the week. I restocked stickers while they were on sale at Michaels and Joann’s last month, but also picked up this set from Amazon.
You have to shop around but sometimes you can get a deal on Happy Planner sticker books on Amazon.
Kirk’s Odor-Neutralizing Unscented Natural Hand Soap
I use this soap because it’s free of the ingredient I’m allergic too- MCL. I can find it cheaper at other online retailers but I really needed it and didn’t want to wait on anything but prime shipping.

What I Read in May
The Shack by Wm. Paul Young
I picked this up at the thrift store 3-4 years ago and finally started reading it this year. It took me about three months because I just don’t have time to read, but I’m so glad I finished. I have some new perspectives on my faith after reading it. I watched the movie after I finished the book, but if you have done neither, just skip the movie. The book is way better and deeper.
The Magnolia Inn by Carolyn Brown
I listened to the audio version on Scribd but it’s currently free on Kindle Unlimited. I haven’t read a bad Carolyn Brown book yet. Joleene inherits her aunt and uncle’s inn but ends up with a partner with half interest. Joleene is dealing with guilt and issues of her deceased alcoholic mother and Tucker is drowning his grief over his wife’s death in alcohol every weekend. In spite of their issues, there are sparks between them. Can love conquer their demons. It’s a cute story mixed with emotion.
The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World by John Mark Comer
Comer makes some great points about how “hurry” and busyness get in the way of our faith and our relationship with Jesus. I listened to the audio version.
