Hello there! I hope you have been enjoying all things fall! I’m excited for more cooler weather to come my way. At least the heat wave broke in September and I got to switch up the outfits a little for fall transition outfits. Today I’m sharing the September best sellers and my favorite outfits from the month, which include some great fall transition outfits. I loved almost every outfit I wore in September and I took three work trips. To love everything I wore on travel and to not have over packed was a huge success for me. Before we get to the outfits, let’s see what you loved in September.
September’s Best Sellers

Time and Tru Tie Front Top
This is a super cute top that’s perfect for fall transitions and early fall looks. I love this rust color.

Jeans- Wal-mart; loafers- Wal-mart
Amazon Essentials Lightweight Open Front Cardigan
While cropped cardigans are trending now, sometimes you still want one that’s a little longer. This one is the perfect length to still provide some coverage, looks modern, and it’s lightweight and perfect for layering.
Marcie Blondo Waterproof Bootie
Blondo is one of my favorite brands for booties and the waterproof factor makes them even more desirable. This pair is currently marked down.
Quince Stretch Crepe Pleated Wide Leg Pants

I have these in two colors and wear them on repeat. You can’t go wrong with these for a modern work trouser and they come in three inseam lengths. Get 10% off your first Quince order with code INFG-25SAVVYSOUTHERNCHIC10.
DV by Dolce Vita Mary Jane Flats

Another item that I love so much, I have them in 2 colors.

Quickly becoming my favorite sweater! Soft, cozy and not too heavy.

Guaile Jeans

Loafers- Amazon
The most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn! Just the right amount of stretch. And they come in short lengths for us petites! I’m stalking the listing for a price drop so I can order them in beige, olive and black.
What I Wore Lately: My 12 Favorite September Outfits
I was on the go a lot in September, so I wore a lot of outfits. I’ve got a good mix of early fall work outfits and casual fall outfits, with some fall transition outfits in there too.
Lady cardigan + brown trousers

Sweater- Amazon; trousers- Amazon; shoes- Macys
I love everything about this look. The cardigan was purchased last year, the pants earlier this year during the winter and the leopard flats are new. I just love how these pieces come together.
Navy + cream + burgundy print

Shoes- Belk; pants- similar; similar
These cream trousers see heavy wear from fall through spring. I gave them a break during the summer but I’m happy to pull them back out for fall and pair them with trending fall colors and textures.
Cropped button up + trousers + cardigan

Cardigan- Amazon; cropped button up- Old Navy; pants- Quince; shoes- Amazon
I wore this look at the beginning of September. Once Labor day passes, I feel like we should be done with summer, but summer isn’t done with us. Without the cardigan this could be a summer work outfit, but with the cardigan, which works for a chilly office, this transition look gets a nod to fall.
Navy blazer + print blouse +olive pants

Blouse-Loft; pants- Quince; loafers- Amazon
I could wear navy and olive over and over in any pairing you can come up with. The dark navy print shell makes a great transition to fall piece. It’s perfect for those “it’s fall but it’s still hot” days.
Cropped corduroy jacket + tshirt + pull on pants

Jacket- Amazon; t-shirt- AF; pants- similar; similar sneakers- similar
You might think it’s too hot for corduroy in early fall, but this jacket is super lightweight. This made the perfect fall travel outfit for my flight to Colorado. The sneakers were so comfy and give this look fall vibes.
Cropped button up + tank + denim shorts

Shirt-Old Navy; tank-Loft; shorts – similar; sandals- Amazon
This late summer look made my favorites. It ‘s perferct for the end of summer when bright colors and fruit prints seem overdone, but it’s still hot.
Striped peplum top + rust pants + Mary Jane flats

I’m in love with this look too. It worthy of repeating and perfect for summer to fall transition.
Ruffle sleeve crochet sweater + wide cuff jeans + Mary Jane flats

Shirt-option; option jeans- Wal-mart; flats- Belk
Another mix of summer and fall. Texture can help you transition to fall even when it’s still warm out
Navy tee +denim shorts + brown sneakers

Hat- similar; tshirt- JCrew; shorts- GapFactory; sneakers- Wal-mart
When it’s still hot but you are ready to transition to fall, swap sandals for sneakers and go with darker colors like navy.
Cropped cotton sweater + navy top +burgundy pants

Cardigan- Quince; shirt- Walmart; shoes- DSW; pants –option
Part of my September travels took me to an area that actually has fall. This cardigan was perfect.
Striped brown polo sweater + tan pants + boat shoes

Sweater – Wal-mart; pants- Loft/ similar; shoes- Old Navy
I wanted to wear chocolate suede Mary Janes with this look but some days the suede it just too hot for my feet. The boat shoes in dark brown still give this a trendy fall look, and short sleeves keep me from overheating.
Sweatshirt + wide leg jeans + brown sneakers

Sweatshirt- GapFactory- similar; similar; jeans- GapFactory- similar; sneakers- Amazon; similar
A simple look but I had to include it in my favorites. I love this dusty pink paired with brown.
September brought the perfect mix of end-of-summer favorites and early fall finds, making it one of the most fun transitional months to dress for. From breezy tops and lightweight layers to the first cozy sweaters and ankle boots, these best sellers proved that versatility is key. Whether soaking up the last warm days or leaning into crisp fall mornings, these outfits offered easy, polished ways to bridge the seasons. As we move deeper into fall, it’s the perfect time to keep building on these pieces—layer them up, mix in rich textures, and keep enjoying that effortless blend of comfort and style.
