The 7 Hottest Fashion Color Trends for Spring 2026

It’s always fun to see which colors are rising to the top for a new year—and which ones quietly step out of the spotlight.

Before we dive in, a quick reminder: colors don’t really go out of style. It’s more about availability and how they’re being styled. If a shade isn’t “trending,” you’ll just have a harder time finding it in stores. The colors below? You’ll be seeing them everywhere in 2026. And even if you have a piece from years ago in a now trending color, that doesn’t mean you should wear it. If the style of the piece or the silhouette is outdated, you will still look outdated.

Let’s talk about what’s coming in strong—and how to wear it.

2026 Color Trends: What’s In, What’s Out & How to Wear It

Some of last year’s trending colors– butter yellow, icy/ powder blue, and blush pink are repeating this year. And I’m not at all upset about it. The cycle of trends was beginning to spin out of control and it was impossible to keep up. I’m happy to pull out some of last spring’s purchases and colors, and not feel like I’m wearing something outdated.

Cloud Dancer: The New Neutral White

According to Pantone, the 2026 Color of the Year is Cloud Dancer.

This isn’t stark, bright white. It’s a soft, putty-toned off-white—slightly beige, slightly creamy, and very wearable.

We’re seeing:

  • Fewer bright white pieces
  • More off-whites and warm neutrals
  • Cream-on-cream outfits

And here’s the good news: no one is going to stop you on the street and ask if you are technically wearing “Cloud Dancer.” Wear the white that flatters you the best.

The hot pink wave—especially during the Barbiecore era—has softened.

For 2026, we’re seeing:

  • Pale pink
  • Candy pink
  • Soft, romantic tones

And here’s what’s interesting: instead of pairing pink only with neutrals, expect to see it styled with:

  • Burgundy
  • Red
  • Unexpected color mixes

It’s softer—but more creatively styled.

Green trends shift every year, but green itself never disappears.

Fading: Kelly Green

Kelly green had a major moment from about 2020–2023. It was bold, vibrant, and everywhere. But for 2026, it’s stepping back. You’ll likely have a harder time finding it in stores.

Trending Now:

Martini Olive Green
This muted, sophisticated olive tone is continuing from 2025—and getting even bigger. It’s chic, wearable, and incredibly versatile.

  • Beautiful in sweatshirts and elevated basics
  • Stunning in spring dresses
  • Perfect paired with browns, creams, and denim

Lime (But Not Neon)
Think bright and fresh—but not highlighter neon. This is a softer, more wearable lime that feels modern for spring.

Forest & Sage Greens
These toned-down greens are elegant and grounding. They pair beautifully with neutrals—but in 2026, expect to see them styled with:

  • Blues
  • Oranges
  • Yellows

More color mixing, less playing it safe.

SHOP GREENS:

Blues: Icy or Powder Blue

Powder Blue Spring TrendPin

Merino Wool Sweater Top/ Patch Pocket Jeans/ Delicate Bead Necklace/ Pearl Drop Earring/ Triangle Shoulder Bag/ Mary Jane Flat/ Sweater Polo/ Sweatshirt/ Addidas Sneaker

Blue is having a strong 2026 moment in multiple shades.

Trending Blues:

  • Pale icy blue
  • Cobalt
  • Cerulean

Expect to see these blues paired with:

  • Navy
  • Burgundy
  • Neutrals
  • Even tomato red and brown

Soft, cool, and effortlessly polished, powder blue has that rare quality of feeling fresh without trying too hard. It’s not as expected as white, not as sweet as blush, and not as bold as cobalt. It sits right in that sweet spot—elegant, versatile, and modern.

SHOP ICY/ POWDER BLUE:

Yellow: Butter Continues, But Brighter Is Coming

Butter Yellow Spring TrendsPin

Oversized Raglan Sweatshirt/ Annie Bing Leopard Baseball Cap/ Relaxed Shorts/ Dolce Vita Serena Sneaker/ Wide Leg Ankle Jeans/ Floral Resin Statement Earrings/ Puffed Sleeve Sweatshirt/ Pointelle Cardigan/ Gia Woven Flats/ Shoulder bag/ Crescent Shoulder Bag

Butter yellow has been huge—and it’s not going anywhere. Yes, butter yellow has been trending—but it doesn’t feel like a one-season novelty.

It’s soft enough to act like a neutral, yet special enough to stand out. If you love looking current without chasing every bold trend, this is a safe and sophisticated way to do it.

But now it has company.

Continuing:

  • Soft butter yellow
  • Pale, creamy yellows

Emerging:

  • Marigold
  • Canary yellow

These brighter, warmer yellows feel fresh for spring and summer. They’re joyful, flattering (especially on warm skin tones), and perfect for dresses and light seasonal pieces.

Cobalt and Cerulean Blue

If pastels are not your thing, don’t feel left out. With a return to maximalism in style, bright bold colors are returning to. Cobalt is one that you will see this spring and summer.

Cobalt is bold, saturated, and undeniably striking—yet it’s surprisingly wearable. It has that rare ability to feel both classic and modern at the same time. And in spring, when wardrobes start to lighten up, cobalt brings energy without feeling heavy.

SHOP COBALT:

Red: Burgundy Stays, Tomato Steps Forward

Spring Color Trend RedPin

Relaxed cardigan/ Striped tee/ Drop Pearl Earrings/ Wide leg jeans/ Woven Crossbody Clutch/ Gia woven flat/ Cropped pant/ Striped Sweater Polo/ Woven Mary Jane Flat/ Printed Scarf

Bright cherry red and burgundy have been huge—and burgundy is absolutely staying.

It’s become almost neutral-adjacent in accessories:

  • Handbags
  • Shoes
  • Belts

But the fresher red for 2026?

Tomato Red

Slightly preppy. Slightly classic. A bit less dramatic than deep burgundy.

Expect:

  • Cable knit sweaters
  • Track pants
  • Navy pairings
  • Preppy-inspired styling

Red isn’t leaving—it’s just shifting tones.

SHOP TOMATO RED:

Other Colors Worth Mentioning

Brown isn’t going anywhere. Pair it with everything mentioned here to keep it fresh for spring.

Purple and violet is set to be a big color this year, but I didn’t find much in this color yet, mostly dresses.

Navy and grey are great neutrals for pairing with these color trends for spring 2026.
