Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style! This month’s theme is summer brights.
Summer is the perfect time to incorporate those bright colors into your office wear. If you think you have to wear all drab colors to work, think again. You can still look professional in summer brights. Start adding bright colors to your work wear during the summer when the colors are more seasonally appropriate. I have worn this bright pink blazer so many times! For this outfit, I pulled out a second bright piece- the green floral top. I purchased this top several years ago and wore it faithfully that first season. Then I ignored it. I don’t think I wore it at all last summer. I made myself pull it out and wear it this time. I’m so glad I did. I got two compliments on it last week when I wore it to work. What is old is new again. I think I’m also going to wear it with jeans and shorts. It has a cute cut out back that makes it the perfect summer top on its own. It still works for the office under the blazer.
I have paired my brights with black, but this outfit would look even more like a summer outfit with white pants, as seen here. I added the fun striped tote with the tassel charm to lighten it all up a bit more.
