It’s my favorite Monday of the month- 9 to 5 Style with Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots. This month we chose plaid as our theme.

Plaid can be a little tricky for a conservative office like mine. Most plaid shirts would be frowned upon at my work, so I have to stick to skirts, pants and shirt dresses in a more traditional subtle pattern.

When styling a plaid shirt dress for the office, choose one that is a straight cut, belted and mind the length. You don’t want it to be too short. Throw on a blazer and pumps with your plaid shirt dress and you are set for your day at the office.

Add some accessories. A long pendant necklace works nicely with an outfit like this one. I recently saw this necklace on Jo-lynne Shane and liked it but really didn’t need to spend the money. Columbus Day sales rolled around and I snagged it for $12. I normally don’t go for the matching earrings, but I did this time. These tri tone earrings will also work well with some of my rose gold necklaces that I have been having a hard time matching earrings too.

Don’t forget to check out how Jennie is wearing plaid today.
