Colored jeans- do you consider yourself a fan or a foe? I know colored bottoms of any kind can be tricky because most of us are a little uncomfortable drawing attention to the bottom half. But a pair of colored jeans can be a fun way to add a punch to your spring wardrobe.
Today I’m teaming up with Kay at Dressed for My Day to show you two takes on colored jeans for spring.
Kay is a Christ follower, full time writer, blogger and more. She has a degree from my alma mater- UGA, and is originally from Georgia. She now resides in Arizona. No wonder I liked her the minute I found her blog – a strong Christian woman from my home state and sharing my middle name. Yep, there’s something I bet you didn’t know. My middle name is Kay. Fonda Kay. Isn’t that a sweet southern name for ya’? Anyway, back to my intro of Kay. She encourages women over 40 to embrace our ever changing bodies and know our worth, and to “get dressed for our day”. Make sure you go check out her blog.

Colored jeans of all colors have been popular over the years. Remember when green was popular? and red? This year pastels like yellow and lilac are having a moment, as well as coral jeans. I’m styling lilac ankle jeans from Wal-mart. At least they are listed as lilac. I find them to be more pink than lilac, but we will go with it.
These jeans are paired with a floral sleeveless top from TJMaxx that has lots of spring colors, including lilac and lavender. The top has a bit of robin’s egg blue so I chose my blue sandals to compliment the outfit. A white denim jacket finishes off this outfit.
A note about the jeans– they are soft and stretchy, but I had to go up to a size 8. They have a super trendy fray hem, and for less than $20, they are a great way to try a trend and try colored jeans. They come in seven colors.
I chose jewelry in rose gold. I love how rose gold compliments pinks and pastels. I had someone ask recently if you can mix metal colors or if you should go with jewelry in the color of the buttons on the denim jacket. I’ve never given this a thought, although there was a time when I would have only worn gold with a gold belt buckle, silver with silver, etc. It’s funny how old school and set we can get with fashion. Mixing metals is perfectly acceptable now.
