Welcome to my Holiday Home! I kept things relatively simple this year, using many of the same Christmas decor items I used last year. However, I always seem to arrange things differently from year to year even when I use the same items. Our living/dining area is one big open space to I tend to make it all coordinate.
You may remember last month’s Style My Home post. My inspiration photo was the inspiration for the plaid, the throws and the pillows. ( By the way, this is going to suffice as this months Style My Home post and I’ll get back on track with the third Thursday next month.)
Just inside the door you see my skinny tree that is decorated with a nativity theme. While we were on vacation, I picked up some more nativity themed ornaments from the gift shops. I found some really neat ornaments by Burton.
My favorite “Wise Men Still Seek Him” print is on the bookshelf next to the tree. Last year we left the nativities out and decided to display them year round. I added a little faux greenery to the bookshelf and some Christmas frames with favorite photos of years past to dress up the bookshelf a little more.
I have some more faux greenery with lights on the sofa table and a glitter nativity from Target from years back.
The plate on top of the shelf is our great niece’s footprint. It’s a great gift to make with your kids to give grandparents, etc.
This room is never complete without Bella! I didn’t even bother to try and get her to leave. The girl knows she owns this house!
I ordered pillow covers from Amazon to cover our existing pillows. The peace and joy pillows were made from placemats years ago. I ordered a variety of red and green plaid pillow covers, as well as the Merry Christmas, tree and deer pillow covers. I found the green plaid throw on the love seat at the thrift store.
Our quilt rack shelf is decorated with some of my hubby’s favorite things he has collected through the years. He painted the penguin gourd.
More faux greenery with lights and ribbon adorn the mantel, along with a Christmas nail and Christmas candy cane that my husband gave me years ago when we first started dating.
I leaned a joy sign on the hearth. The hubby and I made this sign a few years ago. Sometimes we display it outside with a lighted wreath for the “O” but it seemed appropriate for inside this year.
The larger tree is decorated with crocheted ornaments that my mother-in-law made years ago.
Moving on to the morning room, I placed a wreath on the middle window and stuck some faux greenery picks in thrifted sleigh.
The plaid is carried over to the dining room with the placemats. I kept this simple with a gold berry stem centerpiece and gold candles.
The Santa is a vintage piece that belonged to my grandmother. I love finding a place for him each year.
