A Versatile Casual Summer Dress: Styled Two Chic Ways

Oh the beauty and simplicity of a dress! A casual summer dress can be a life saver in the hottest part of summer and it can transition seamlessly into fall.

I came across this cute floral summer dress on Amazon recently. It’s worthy of a place in your closet. It’s made from light and airy viscose, which is extremely breathable- a great characteristic for a summer dress. It’s not cotton, but it feels similar to cotton. The spaghetti straps are adjustable and the skirt is lined! All great features for a dress in my opinion.

The Easiest Way to Style a Casual Summer Dress

One easy way to style this dress is to dress up a bit in wedges or heeled sandals and add statement earrings. Neutral wedges let the dress speak for itself.

A dress is always a good option when you are short on time or just don’t feel like mixing and matching pieces. Just slip on a dress and go. You can change up the look of this option by changing the accessories and shoes out multiple times.

An Alternate Way to Style A Dress

Add a tshirt and sneakers to change up the look. Knot a tee at the waist over a dress or slip a fitted tee underneath. Pair it with a crossbody bag for a day of shopping or other activities where you want to be hands-free. A belt bag would be a good option with this look also.

I chose to knot this linen blend Loft tee over this dress. I swapped out the statement earrings for a more simple gold knot stud earring.

A simple summer dress like this one is a great option for a travel outfit. When traveling, a dress can go from day to night easily when styled the two ways shown here.

You can easily take a dress like this from warm to cooler temps or from summer to fall with the addition of a denim jacket and booties. A cropped cardigan would go well with this dress too, but I don’t think I’d layer a long cardigan due to the volume of the skirt of this dress. You could also layer a pull over sweater over the dress in a similar fashion as the t-shirt look.
