Most days I wear pumps or heels of some type to the office, but there are those days when I just don’t feel like it or I know I’m going to be super busy and need to move quick. Those days call for flats.
The most office appropriate flats are loafers or pointed toe flats. Save the ballet flats for the weekends. Flats with details like bows, buckles and straps are also more office appropriate and add more interest than plain flats. They tend to be a little dressier vs the casual vibe of a plain flat.
When I think of fall flats, I always think of my leopard flats. Leopard is certainly a year round neutral, but it has particular fall feels for me.
This outfit is made up of all neutrals and solids- grey ankle pants, olive blouse and black blazer. The pop of leopard adds a little texture and interest. The bold pattern elevates the look without the added height of a heel.
Flats also work best with ankle pants or skirts rather than trousers. A look with wide leg cropped trousers will work with flats but full length trouser pants need a heel, even if it’s a tiny block heel.

I love shoes of all kinds, but fall flats are the best. They come in so many textures like suede and patterns like plaid, leopard and snakeskin. Fall flats are the best for adding some excitement and significance to otherwise plain or neutral work wear.
