Hey there and welcome back to the blog for 2022. Not much is changing around here, just planning to deliver more useful content.
I got some great ideas from my newsletter subscribers in a survey during the last two weeks, so you will continue to see “many ways to style one item” and more evergreen style posts.
Are you a newsletter subscriber? There are two options- subscribe to the daily feed- meaning you get each post published delivered to your inbox as it’s published, or a weekly newsletter with a link to the past week’s posts and style tips, sale updates and more. You can subscribe to one or both here. Just be sure to check your spam folder and add me to your safe email.
I have so many ideas and so little time. My entire weekend got away from me as I have launched into a huge decluttering project with my home. Part out of desire and part out of necessity. Our washing machine died just before Christmas so we got a new washer and dryer set. The old one was a front loader and we had the storage pedestals. The new one is a top load and we got rid of the storage pedestals, but that means some of my storage went away. I had to purge the things we kept in there and the laundry room (I call it a laundry room and that’s a joke- it’s a passthrough from the garage to the kitchen just big enough for the washer and dryer) cabinets to make things work again with the new set up. I also purchased a rolling cart for the space to hold some things from Amazon.
Mentioning Amazon- that’s how I’m kicking off 2022 here on the blog with my December Prime Purchases post.
Be sure to check out my Top Ten Amazon Favorites of 2021 where I recap my favorites and readers’ most purchased Amazon items.
Amazon was a go to for Christmas gifts this year. I also turn to Amazon for gluten free and corn free items when I can’t find them in the grocery store, so I ordered a few things for Christmas and holiday baking and cooking.
I ordered these adorable buffalo plaid mini mug hats for my marshmallow cups for my tiered trays. So cute!
I usually carry a medium to large sized tote as a purse daily, but sometimes I want something a little smaller but not too small. I ordered this quilted crossbody in blackand this bag in taupe.I was hoping the taupe bag would work with my purse strap but it didn’t. I keep forgetting the strap I have has a bit of cognac leather on the strap. I liked this taupe bag so much I kept it anyway.
I also ordered this one as an option for a smaller crossbody, but the strap was so cheaply made I had to return it.
This Land’s End mock neck top in ivory makes a great basic. I already had one in burgundy, so I knew I would like it. These are great layering pieces for winter and work with lighter layers for our mild winters.
Our nephew does a bit of woodworking and finishing, and my husband also likes to have a little fun with his gifts, so he ordered these nesting boxes. AND… he wrapped each one individually inside the other so my nephew had a bit of work to do to get to his gift in the last small box.
My mother-in-law has started Bible journaling and placed some books and pens on her wish list. We gave her this book and this one from her list. The second one incorporates lots of mixed media techniques with more than pens and markers, and I’m not sure she is going to like it as she never liked “lumpy” stuff in her scrapbooking. I’m not familiar with the pens, but she indicated she has used them before and really likes them.
My sister-in-law is a huge John Wayne fan and requested these books: John Wayne Speaks: The Ultimate John Wayne Quote Book; John Wayne’s Book of American Grit: Stories of Courage and Perseverance throughout Our Nation’s History; John Wayne Treasures: Featuring a Collection of Memorabilia from the Life of the Duke. They all looked interesting and entertaining.
Our niece always wants make up and beauty tools for Christmas. She had some lipsticks and brushes on her list, so we ordered the Revlon lipsticks (I’m a fan of these too!) and these brushes for her, along with some purchases from Ulta.
Our great-niece got a skateboard for Christmas so some protective gear was in order. She is a very large 10-year-old so we had to get a ladies adult size in the gear. She also has a December birthday so I got her this headband holder and filled it with headbands.
I mentioned earlier that I get some baking supplies and treats from Amazon. I ordered mini marshmallows (gluten and corn free), sprinkles(almost impossible to find in a store here without corn and it turns out the rainbow ones have corn while the chocolate ones do not) and gluten free pretzels. We are long time fans of the marshmallows but this was our first time having these pretzels. We will be ordering more.
I ordered these large stud earrings for myself. I like stud earrings but many are too small for my liking. These are perfect.
I’ve not yet purchased anything but groceries this year, but it’s only been three days. After all the packages arriving in December, I’m really looking forward to a slow month of spending in January.
Linking up with Tanya for Prime Purchases.
