14 Spring Fashion Trends to Know for 2025

As we welcome the arrival of spring in 2025, it’s time to refresh our wardrobes with a few trends. You can wear trends at any age, and shouldn’t shy away from them as you age. Adding a trend or two here and there will keep you looking youthful and modern.

Not every trend is for everyone, and that’s okay. Choose the ones that work for you but don’t be too quick to say no to everything. Sometimes it takes a bit to adjust and for looks to grow on the eye, especially when trends make a major change.

Spring is one of the seasons where we tend to see major shifts, but many of this year’s trends are continuations of what we have been doing or renewals of old trends, with a spring vibe to them. From pastels and playful prints to innovative silhouettes and a variety of fabrics, this season promises to be a vibrant celebration of style and individuality. Join us as we explore the top spring fashion trends that will dominate the fashion scene for spring 2025, inspiring you to step out in confidence and embrace your unique sense of style.

The Fashion Trends for Spring 2025

In no particular order, here are the key themes trending in fashion for spring.

Boho chic

If you love bohemian style, you will love all the options for spring. Boho is taking a dreamy, glam direction for spring and will incorporate elements that will also be trending on their own, like ruffles, sheer fabrics, and platform shoes. Suede will continue to be a big item and has influences on the bohemian aesthetic.

Fisherman aesthetic

Remember boat shoes? They’re back, and all things with a nautical vibe are on trend. If stripes and cable knit sweaters make your heart sing, you will love this trend. Pair these pieces with relaxed denim or khaki pants to nail the vibe, and when the weather warms up, grab a pair of fisherman sandals. While it’s still cold, don a chore coat or barn jacket in an earthy shade to get these vibes. A beanie or bucket hat can compliment your fisherman outfit.

Bubble Skirts

Bubble hem skirts are predicted to be a hot item for spring. Known for their rounded and voluminous shape, they are for those who like a bolder look. They are available in mini, midi and maxi skirt lengths. I think I had one in the 80s but I don’t remember loving it, and may or may not get on board with this trend.

Blush Pink

We will be exploring trending spring colors in another post, but the main color trend is going to be blush pink. It’s a switch from the loud Barbiecore pink to a softer, pastel pink.

Polka dots

Some think you can’t wear polka dots over a certain age, but pick a garment that flatters you and that is appropriate for the occasion and you can wear it in polka dots.

Maximalism

Minimalism and “quite luxury” have had their moment and now it’s time for “loud luxury”. Think bold prints, bright colors, and statement jewelry. Bag charms and charm necklaces are having a moment again thanks to this shift. This isn’t to say that quite luxury will be completely out, as it’s based on classic pieces, but if that was too boring for you, now is your chance to let your bold or eclectic personality shine.

Elevated athleisure

Take your basic athletic clothing and pair it with high fashion elements to create outfits that can be worn for a variety of everyday outfits. Try pairing a bomber jacket with a skirt and heels, or add a blazer with track pants, another piece predicted to be a big deal this spring. Take your trusty lounge wear sets and mix and match them with other everyday pieces of clothing.

The biggest trend this spring with athleisure is “the wrong jacket” trend. Heard of the wrong shoe theory- wearing a shoe that you don’t expect to go with the rest of the outfit? Same for the wrong jacket. Take a windbreaker and pair it with a fancy dress, or parkas with cocktail dresses. You likely won’t find me doing this unless it’s raining and I grab my windbreaker just to stay dry for a few minutes. However, elevated athleisure is right up my alley. If you love sporty chic style, you will be on board for this trend.

Trousers

Relaxed trousers, particularly wide leg trousers will continue to be a trending item. While there is a trend to pair them with oversized blazers, that can be too much fabric for some of us. I prefer to continue to pair them with fitted or structured tops.

Barrel leg jeans

This denim trend came on strong in the fall, and has only gotten stronger. Every mainstream retailer now has lots of barrel leg jean and pants options.

Skinnier jeans and pants

What? Do not read that as “skinny jeans are back.” Slimmer cut jeans and pants are making a comeback, but they are not your skinnies of 2010-2017. Slim straight jeans and cigarette jeans are where it’s at now. These don’t cling to you from top to bottom like the old skinny jeans did. And how crazy is it that slimmer pants and jeans are in at the same time as wide leg jeans and barrel leg jeans? There is truly a silhouette for everyone, and everyone can be on trend.

Animal prints

Leopard print is still going strong, but it has been joined by all other animal prints– snake, zebra and cow. A pair of shoes in an animal print is an easy and stylish way to enjoy this trend if you are afraid of it aging you or looking like you are trying to hard.

Sheer tops and dresses

It seems like there is a push for sheer items every spring. Thankfully it’s been done a little more tastefully this time with sheer layers and elements like sheer sleeves, while still providing some modest coverage.

Lace

Lace tops and items are prevalent this year, likely as part of the boho aesthetic that is gaining popularity. It also great for those who have a romantic style personality.

Plaids

Usually reserved for fall, there are murmuring of plaids being a spring print this year.  I haven’t seen a lot of plaids at the retailers yet, so we’ll keep an eye on this.

As you can see, there is something for almost every style personality. Which spring fashion trends 2025 will you be embracing this spring?
